BOARD MEMBERS

Ginevra Bull, President

Choral music has always been close to Gin’s heart, and she sang in choirs throughout childhood in her native England. She has worn many hats over the years and has worked as a travel writer, a foundation program officer supporting urban agriculture initiatives, an arts administrator, and the founding artistic director of an OBIE award-winning Off-Broadway theater company. Since moving from New York City to the Berkshires in 2012, Gin has become a ceramicist, and a certified Reiki practitioner. She volunteers to support the work of several local organizations, and she appreciates the opportunity Vocalis affords young people to find and develop their voices.

Aaron Baden, Treasurer

Aaron grew up in Ohio, singing in his local youth church choir. Throughout high school and during his undergraduate studies at Ohio University, he held first chair in the low brass section of the marching band. As an adult, he enjoys playing the ukulele and proudly shares the title of "parent with the most choristers in Vocalis" (three) with his wife, Meg. They appreciate the care and attention that Julie Bickford brings to developing their daughters’ poise and voices; their eldest daughter started singing with Julie nine years ago.

Robbi Hartt, Clerk

Robbi Hartt earned her M.A. in English at Georgetown and spent her career teaching English and directing the writing center at Greens Farms Academy (Westport, Conn.). She was founding director and still serves on the advisory board for Horizons at GFA, along with the Vocalis and New Marlborough Meeting House boards. She and her husband Bob live in Mill River, where they created a respite for families dealing with pediatric cancer. She writes regularly for local publications.

Silke Aisenbrey

Silke Aisenbrey is a sociologist by training and nature, having spent her career teaching and researching community, social inequality, and gender. In 2022, she left a position as a Professor of Sociology at Yeshiva University in New York City to shift her focus to working with these issues locally. Silke is also on the Board and volunteers at the People’s Pantry in Great Barrington as well as at Hevreh of the Southern Berkshires. Silke’s child, Noah, has been singing with Vocalis since the choir’s very first rehearsal in September 2021.
