Training Choir
For children ages 8-10
The Vocalis Training Choir is open to all children who are interested in learning how to sing. This ensemble offers engaging music education and choral training in one 60-minute rehearsal each week. Children will learn music literacy skills such as identifying notes on the treble staff, navigating a piece of choral music, and reading simple rhythm patterns. They will also begin to hone their vocal technique through breathing exercises, vowel work, projection, listening, and movement.
Tuition: $450/year (September-June). Families may pay in full or in installments. Our recommended installment plan is $56.25/month for 8 months, September-April. Senior Choir
For treble singers ages 10-14
The Senior Choir is one of the primary performance ensembles of the organization. Choristers take part in dynamic 90-minute rehearsals once each week and will perform several times each year in the Berkshires and beyond. During rehearsals, singers will learn proper vocal technique, develop music literacy and sight-reading skills, and work with their peers to hone listening, blend, and other critical aspects of ensemble work. They will work to learn challenging two- and three- part treble repertoire of various and diverse genres.
Tuition: $600/year (September-June). Families may pay in full or in installments. Our recommended installment plan is $75/month for 8 months, September-April. Encore
For treble singers ages 14-18
Encore is the highest level vocal ensemble of the Vocalis Youth Choir. Structured for treble singers ages 14-18, this choir will work on challenging and diverse repertoire in three and four parts. Choristers will take part in dynamic 90-minute rehearsals once each week and will perform several times each year in the Berkshires and beyond. During rehearsals, singers will learn proper vocal technique, develop music literacy and sight-reading skills, and work with their peers to hone listening, blend, and other critical aspects of ensemble work.
